Precautions for use

  • Ensure full pipe state during installation to avoid bubble accumulation; upstream straight pipe section ≥5D, downstream ≥2D.
  • Grounding protection must be done to prevent electromagnetic interference from affecting the signal. ATEX/IECEx certified models must be selected for hazardous areas.
  • Fluid conductivity must be ≥5 μS/cm, not suitable for oil or gas.
  • It is recommended to perform zero calibration once every 12 months, especially after the medium composition changes.

When the medium of the Rosemount 8712 flows through the magnetic field, a voltage signal proportional to the flow rate is induced on the electrode.
